About the Artist

Fernanade Lipton Graduate of Pratt Institute, Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Post graduate studies continued in Alabama and New York. Received St. Gaudens Medal for Fine Draughtsmanship and awarded Alexander Medal for Merit from the School Art League of New York. First prize at the 31st Beaux Arts Finals, Westchester County Federation of Women’s Clubs. Has won numerous first prizes awards at juried shows and selected outstanding artist and best painting award in Montgomery, Alabama. One woman show at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and numerous art galleries in New York, Connecticut, Puerto Rico, and Alabama. Collectors of her work are scattered across the U.S., Europe and South America.
    Prints depicting the events and aftermath of the Gulf War in Iraq in 1991 are owned by President George Bush I; N.Y. Congressman Hamilton Fish; General Colin Powell; N.Y. Senator Alfonse D’Amato; General Norman Schwarzkopf; General J.Van Proyden; the West Point Military Academy, and the original commissioned painting, now owned privately, was sought after by the Smithsonian Institute.
    Her 5’x7’ painting representing ‘Athletes of the World’, currently decorates the entrance of the Saw Mill River Club in Mt Kisco, N.Y. Her murals have graced the walls of the Pediatric wing of the Putnam Community Hospital in Carmel, N.Y., the Putnam County Bicentennial Ball and the Maxwell AFB Military College in Montgomery, Alabama. In addition to her art achievements, Fernande has worked extensively with metal and bronzed sculpture and crafted unique ceramic ware and designer clothing.
